About Us

Early History

Our journey started in early 1950’s when our grandfather Ivan was manufacturing and
repairing parts of wooden wagons which were used mainly for transport and farming needs
of the local community. Strong will and crafty hands helped him overcome lack of machinery
and led him to establish himself as a local wooden artisan. He later built his very own small
workshop next to his birth house which is located in the middle of a rich wine region of
Vipavska dolina. Strong winemaking tradition gave him the idea for expanding his
business and start making and selling wooden wine barrels. With loads of consistency and
hardwork he was then able to equip the workshop better with some of the essential
machinery and tools that he needed to be able to increase the product quality.

Second Generation - Galenaro

With a solid foundation built by his father, Robert was next up to take over the family business. At a very young age he started spending afternoons in the workshop with his father. Ivan managed to pass all of his skills and knowledge to his son. With the passion and love for wood that he inherited from his father, Robert was striving to bring the business to a whole new level and started focusing it on the production of wooden furniture for some of the biggest German and Italian merchants in that particular market sector. With his products being sold internationally from Tokyo, Japan to Los Angeles, USA, Robert at that time already knew he is on the right path and that people value and appreciate his work.

Over the years’ carpentry has become our family tradition. As well as their father beforehand, the two sons Timotej and Domen had the passion and love for woodworking laid into their cradle. Working at the workshop with their father and recognizing the fact that other companies are taking all the credits for his hardwork gave the idea for our very first online store that you are currently at. Being able to offer you the best value for your money when purchasing a product directly from our hands really makes us happy. Robert Cotič

His lifelong devotion to wood and hard work got us to where we stand today as a company. His connection with wood started when he as a 5-year-old started spending all of his after-school time in his father’s small carpentry trying to help him as much as possible.
He educated himself as a carpenter and quickly started his own production business. Quickly he became renowned for his quality and started manufacturing for some of the major German and Italian furniture merchants. He’s now got more than 35 years of priceless experience in his hands and delivers every piece of it into his products. His drive for work is admiring which helps us all step together and make it possible.

Domen Cotič

With now more than 10 years of woodworking experience his importance and contribution to the family business is immense. Just like his father, Domen’s curiousness always kept him very close to his father's workshop. Through years he developed a very strong and diverse knowledge of wood crafting. On the other side – he simultaneously was educating himself as a computer programmer. He immediately offered himself as a person who wants to be in charge of building the website for our business. He also uses his computer skills daily at operating the CNC machine to deliver that precise work that cannot be done by hand.

Timotej Cotič

Watching his hardworking father crafting masterpieces and other companies taking all the credits for it, gave Timotej the idea of building an online store that would help bring his father’s work closer to the people with no other intermediaries involved. Visionary and entrepreneurial by spirit he was determent to make it happen. Quickly he started developing on this idea and coordinated the team through the process.

Tanja Cotič

Positive, energetic, and always ready to help, Tanja is just a wonderful person to work alongside. Raising the team spirit and creating a joyful working environment is what she does daily. Hardworking and enthusiastic she went enrolled herself at the University of Sociology in which she claimed her master’s degree. Besides educating herself and after finishing it she was always stayed very active working in all kinds of areas - including being a store sales manager, insurance agent and was also head of organization crew of an international music festival for 8 straight years. Doing all that, really gave her a diverse spectre of competencies and a great deal of experiences which she now implements into our family business.

Graphic Designer

Gaja Cotič

Vibrant and open-minded as well as very persistent about everything. With a great passion for drawing Gaja not only always filled her school textbooks with all types of drawings, she even went for her school mates, so everyone had a piece of her creativity with them. Through the years she developed herself in a way of being able to express her ideas and bringing them onto paper. She was also always very interested in 3D modeling in which she became an expert in and is now using it to be able to bring our ‘’brainstorming’’ ideas to life in the form of a computer model.

Matija Keber

Nature and wildlife lover is what describes him best. A family friend who enjoys capturing everything through his camera lens, Matija’s passion for photography led him to enrol in the University for Photography which he successfully graduated from. Through his time at university and with lots of hard work and passion put into account he developed himself as an excellent photographer. Right after he was presented with the idea of an online store he was down and ready to help us achieve it. He stands behind every photo that we share with you. He enables us to show you the warmness of the solid wood and the charm of our handmade products through pictures.
